David Joseph Ray, 51, of South Bend, passed away early Monday morning, February 25, 2013.
He was born August 1, 1961 in South Bend and lived in the community all his life.
David was a very patriotic man. He loved America and gave all his support to our troops. He enjoyed drawing, bird watching and the History Channel.
David wrote this and we?d like to share it with you: ?I?ve got a head full of dreams just like any other man. I write them down one by one and hold them in my hand. So let my boot heels dance across the endless sky and let me ride my iron horse until the day I die.?
David is survived by his two daughters, Janiece Ray of Orange County, California and Kaley Ray of South Bend; a grandson, Jacob Moore of South Bend; his mother, Dorothy Ray of Mishawaka; two brothers, John (Patty) Ray of Granger and Charles Ray of South Bend; a sister, Sally (Bob) McCarley of North Carolina; his best friend, Flint Stone; and two nephews and four nieces.
David was preceded in death by his father, John William Edward Ray.
A Memorial Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, March 22, from 4 - 6 pm in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka.
