A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 2, from 9:00am until 11:00am at the Seneca United Methodist Church, 121 W Lincoln St, Seneca, IL 61360. A funeral ceremony will follow at 11:00am at the church. Private burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Morris. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home.
Margaret was born June 8, 1937, in Morris, IL, to Harry and Ruth (Skelton) Jones. She worked as a phone operator for Illinois Bell Phone Company for several years. When she got married, she moved to Germany for three years and made many lifelong friends that she stayed in contact with. When she returned, she raised her family, and once her children were old enough, she went to work at Seneca High School for over 20 years, working in the kitchen and as a janitor. After she retired, she became an in home caretaker and had the honor to care for many of her close friends.
She was extremely involved in the Seneca American Legion Women's Auxiliary and the Seneca Historical Society and was a Gold Star sister. She was also the founder of the Lunch Bunch, and would gather with her friends once a month and they would go out to eat at various restaurants. She was an extremely skilled cook and baker and was well known for her candies, Kringla, and brownies. But above everything else, she loved her family. She was proud of each and every one of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and never missed an opportunity to spend time with them.
She and her companion, Ed Broderick, loved to travel. They took several trips to Hawaii over the years and she adored the time they spent together. She had a fantastic sense of humor and always had a smile on her face.
She is survived by her children, Cathleen (Gary) Lowery, Elizabeth (Thomas) Torres, Joseph (Patricia) Einhaus, and Stephen Einhaus; her extended family, Bill and Jan Broderick, their daughter, Lauren (Nate Kaldheim) Broderick, and their son, William Kaldheim; her grandchildren; Tami (Caleb) Coss, Amy Snyder, David (Chelsea) Lowery, David (Kayla) Einhaus, Marissa (George) Einhaus, Dylan Einhaus, Jake Torres, Sarah Torres, Lauren Einhaus, Elle Einhaus, and Sawyer Einhaus; as well as her great grandchildren, Kaitlin, Tyler, and Kylee Kline, Leanne Lowery, Grady, Grant, and Grahm Snyder, and Marilah, Kaplan, Grace, and Braelynn Einhaus.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ruth; Joseph E. Einhaus; her companion, Ed Broderick; and her brothers, James and Charles Jones.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Seneca Historical Society or the Seneca American Legion Women's Auxiliary.
